WEEKLY DEVOTIONAL

Called For A Purpose - This is Just the Beginning

Based on the message about Encountering God, new identity, holiness, service, and mission.

MONDAY

The Encounter is Just the Beginning

Key verse: Philippians 3:13-14

#### Reflection

God's miracle is not a final point. It is a calling. Often we seek an experience, an answer, a healing, or direction, and when we receive something from the Lord, we think the journey has ended. But God does not draw us just to excite us; He draws us to send us. The Encounter with God, a meaningful prayer, a received word, or a secret experience are not the end of the journey. They are the beginning of a new season. Paul teaches us to leave behind what’s past and to strive for the goal. Those who have had a true encounter with God do not remain stuck in the past, nor do they remain idle admiring what they have received. They rise up and move forward.

#### Practical Application

Today, stop treating what God has done as a beautiful memory. Ask: what step is God calling me to take now? Write down a practical action for advancement: resume prayer, reconcile with someone, serve in the church, return to the cell group, disciple someone, or abandon an old practice.

#### Prayer

Lord, thank you because what I’ve experienced with You is not the end, but the beginning of a new journey. Help me leave behind what needs to stay behind and to advance toward the goal You have prepared for me. In Jesus' name, amen.

#### Reflective Question:

What does God want to form in me through this word?

TUESDAY

A New Identity

Key verse: 2 Corinthians 5:17

#### Reflection

When God calls someone, He doesn’t just improve that person; He changes their identity. Abram became Abraham. Jacob received the name of Israel. Simon became Peter. Saul became Paul. The encounter with God is not just an emotional experience, but a change of origin, direction, and purpose. The problem is that many people try to live a new life carrying the old name. God has already called, forgiven, and restored, but the person continues to define themselves by error, shame, past, fear, or the opinion of others. In Christ, the old things have passed away. This does not mean there isn't a process, but it means that the past has lost the right to govern your identity.

#### Practical Application

Today, observe what phrases you use to define yourself: “I’m just like that,” “I never change,” “I’m not good for this,” “I’m weak.” Replace these statements with what God says: I am a new creation, I am a son, I am called, I am set apart for a purpose.

#### Prayer

Father, renew my mind so that I no longer live by the old identity. I receive the truth of Your Word: in Christ, I am a new creation. May my past not govern my present. In Jesus' name, amen.

#### Reflective Question:

What does God want to form in me through this word?

WEDNESDAY

Holiness is a Journey, Not an Appearance

Key verse: 1 Peter 1:15-16

#### Reflection

Holiness is not pretending to be perfect. God is not looking for people who never err; He seeks hearts available to be transformed. The only perfect one who walked this earth was Jesus. Thus, holiness doesn’t begin when you resolve everything alone, but when you draw near to Him and allow Him to work on your life. Sin can no longer be routine for those who have found Christ. There may be fall, weakness, and process, but sin cannot be a lifestyle. An accident is unexpected; a routine is planned. God calls us to a life where grace does not become an excuse to remain the same, but strength to be transformed day by day.

#### Practical Application

Choose a concrete area where you need to stop treating sin as a normal habit. Don’t make pretty speeches: take a practical step today. Cut access, ask for help, confess, adjust your routine, and return to Christ with sincerity.

#### Prayer

Lord Jesus, I do not want to use grace as an excuse to remain the same. I want to live a life that reflects Your holiness. Change my heart and transform my attitudes. In Jesus' name, amen.

THURSDAY

God Uses the Unqualified

Key verse: 1 Corinthians 1:27-29

#### Reflection

God does not choose people because they already seem ready. He chooses to show what He can do. The disciples were not the most prepared, the most influential, or the most respected. David was just a young man tending sheep. Paul once persecuted the church. Peter was impulsive. Yet, God called them. This confronts our favorite excuse: “When I improve, God will use me.” Wrong. God does not need your perfection; He wants your surrender. He uses the weak so that it is clear that the glory belongs to Him, not to us. The calling does not begin when you feel sufficient; it begins when you understand that you totally depend on the Lord.

#### Practical Application

Stop waiting to feel ready to obey. Today, take a small step of service: pray for someone, share a testimony, invite someone to the cell group, help with something simple, or make yourself available. God uses available people, not perfect people.

#### Prayer

God, I acknowledge my limitations, but I also acknowledge that You can use me. Remove the excuses from me and give me an available heart. Use my life for Your glory. In Jesus' name, amen.

What does God want to form in me through this word?

FRIDAY

Called to the Body and the Mission

Key verse: Matthew 28:19-20

#### Reflection

God's purpose never ends just with you. God finds us, changes our identity, sanctifies our lives, and places us in a body so we can serve. A finger separated from the body dies, because life flows in connection. Similarly, isolated Christians become weak. The body guards us, corrects us, strengthens us, and gives us experiences that we could never have alone. The mission is collective: make disciples, care for people, carry testimonies, serve families, reach cities. The encounter with God needs to generate sending. Whoever has been conquered by Christ now participates in the mission of Christ.

#### Practical Application

Choose a person to care for this week. Don’t wait for a great spiritual opportunity. Send a message, pray, invite to the cell group, listen, serve. The mission starts with simple steps of obedience and connection.

#### Prayer

Father, thank you because You placed me in a body and called me for a mission. I do not want to live isolated or centered on myself. Use my life to reach people and strengthen Your church. In Jesus' name, amen.
