God’s New Thing

Introduction

How many times do we look back and see that the “best” days have already passed?

We look at the past and see that things seemed easier (school–responsibility).

How many of us wish we could go back to being children…

Many times, we try to travel to the same places:

Return to the same restaurant/hotel, be with the same people. But most of the time—or 100% of the time—it’s never the same.

Because what we lived in those days stayed there; there is no way to go back in time.

So, in reality, we don’t just want to be in the same place, but to relive what we once experienced.

And this DRAINS your faith, because the best days of your life have not been lived yet.

They are yet to come!

The best days of your life HAVE NOT passed—they are STILL ahead of you.

“Do not remember the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth—do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.” (Isaiah 43:18-19)

We are not standing before a “new calendar,” but before SOMETHING NEW from the Lord for our lives.

Let Go of the Past

"Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 3:13-14)

What needs to be left behind in your life?

Wrong habits / Speech / Bitterness / Forgiveness / Perhaps dreams that do not come from God.

Make this morning a day of burial in some areas of your life.

Open Yourself to God’s New Thing

“Do not remember the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth—do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.” (Isaiah 43:18-19)

“Behold, I am doing a new thing”

The prophet Isaiah prophesies that the Lord has prepared the “NEW” for you.

“now it springs forth”

Now, what “light” is the prophet referring to?

John 8:12 Jesus spoke to them again, saying: I am the light of the world; whoever follows me will not walk in darkness but will have the light of life.

“do you not perceive it?”

There are many who have not yet perceived the LIGHT—many who cannot see God’s new thing.

“I will make a way”

Again, which “way” is the prophet referring to?

John 14:6 Jesus said to him: I am the way, the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father except through me.

“A way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.”

This points to the impossible—meaning there are no barriers for the Lord.

There is no darkness.

There are no limits.

There are no powers that can stop Him.

This means that no matter the circumstance, HE will bring the new into your life.

It is not possible to live God’s new thing except through Jesus.

Accept the CALL of Jesus… “do you not perceive it?”

Conclusion

It is not possible to live God’s new thing except through Jesus.

If you are tired of living the same routine…

Sometimes you parked in time and didn’t notice—neither moving forward nor backward.

Then open yourself to the NEW.

GOD GAVE US HIS BEST—GOD GAVE US THE NEW!

GOD GAVE HIS SON.
